FAQs

What can I do to help people who are homeless?
Volunteer your time. Contribute to a nonprofit organization that is effectively moving people from being homeless to being housed. Educate yourself about homelessness through Friendship Place or another organization you respect. Inform those around you of some of the inaccurate stereotypes and unfounded myths surrounding homelessness. If you see a homeless person on the street in cold weather, you can call the Hypothermia Hotline at 1.800.535.7252. The Hotline provides blankets and transportation to shelters during the winter months.
