Social services PDF Print E-mail
ServicesFriendship Place provides social services on Monday from 12:30 - 4:00 PM and Tuesday - Friday at 8:30-11:30 AM, and 1:00-3:00 PM to any individual that comes to the lobby at the times indicated. The following programs also provide social services to homeless individuals. Unless otherwise indicated, all locations are Washington, DC.

Shelters PDF Print E-mail
ShelterCCHFP's small shelter system includes St. Paul's, Metropolitan House, St. Alban's, and St. Luke's (for men) and the Haven (for women). During the winter we also have a hypothermia shelter for women at Community of Christ Church and for men at St. Luke's. Individuals must come into Friendship Place and see a case manager and meet some basic requirements before they can be placed on the shelter waiting list. FAQs

Is it true that many homeless people prefer to live on the streets?
No. Most would prefer to have a home, but cannot afford one. Sometimes homeless people with mental illnesses and substance abuse issues have been evicted or have otherwise been unable to stay housed without supportive services.
